England’s Team score kept on increasing with the quick fall wickets of their batsmen.
Only a 75-run-partnership was maintained between the England captain Jos Buttler and the middle order batsmen Moeen Ali.
England skipper Jos Buttler was impressive with his performance by scoring a fantastic half-century of 60 runs from 80 balls (including 3 fours and 2 sixes), thereby ensuring that his team reaches a safe total in a must-win match against India.
Finally, Jos Buttler departed when England’s score was at 199-7 in 36.5 overs, after being bowled by Hardik Pandya and a superb catch taken by Ravindra Jadeja.
England’s score was 214-7 at the end of 40 overs, as the England Batsmen were able to score only 45 runs in the last 5.4 overs of the match they batted, out of 10 remaining overs.
England set a target of 260 runs against India. At one stage, it seemed that England would cross the 300-score mark but the quick fall of wickets with 25 balls being wasted along with many dot balls, restricted England to a score of 259 runs.
Indian Bowlers Hardik Pandya(24-4 in 7 Overs) including 3 maiden overs along with Yuzvendra Chahal (60-3 in 9.4 Overs) helped India grab quick wickets of England Batsmen.
England vs India 3rd ODI 2022 Highlights: India’s Batting Performance
Chasing a target of 260 runs in 50 overs at Manchester, in order to win this series, the Indian batsmen struggled during the start after the dismissal of their opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan, who scored only 1 run from 3 balls.
Later, the Indian skipper Rohit Sharma departed after scoring 17 runs from 17 balls (including 4 fours) when India’s score was 21-2 in 4.5 overs.

India was able to score only 43-3 in the first 10 overs of the powerplay, which was very less compared to England’s powerplay score of 66-3.
After the dismissal of Suryakumar Yadav(16 runs from 28 balls ) in 16.1 overs of the match, the Indian team was in a tough situation to chase the target of 260 runs as India was 72-4 during that time.
Things seemed to be in England’s favor of winning the series, as England bowlers were able to grab four quick wickets of Indian Batsmen.
But, the 133-runs- partnership between Rishabh Pant and Hardik Pandya proved to be the turning point of the match.
Rishabh Pant scored his maiden ODI century against England along with Hardik Pandya’s supportive half-century of 71 runs from 55 balls (including 10 fours). The partnership between these two batsmen ensured to deal with the England bowlers by smashing more fours rather than sixes to score more runs for their team.
Rishabh Pant scored an unbeaten 125 runs from 113 balls (including 16 fours and 2 sixes) during the important phase of the match.
Hardik Pandya was dismissed when India was 205-5 in a 35.2 Overs match, but it was too late as India comfortably chased the target by scoring 261 runs in 42.1 Overs of the match with a 5-wickets win and 7.5 Overs to spare.
From 72-4 in 16.1 Overs to 261-5 in 42.1 Overs, Indian Batsmen Rishabh Pant and Hardik Pandya ensured a comfortable chase against England in-order to win the series.
