Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin Tested Positive for COVID-19

Recently, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin tested positive for COVID-19 and was admitted to Kauvery Hospital, Alwarpet in Chennai two days after being infected by COVID-19. This is an important indication of the rapid rise of COVID-19 cases back in Tamil Nadu.

The Tamil Nadu CM was admitted for investigations and observation for Covid-related symptoms.

Earlier, MK Stalin stated that he felt symptoms of tiredness and fever which made him undergo a mandatory medical test.

Recently, MK Stalin attended many public places without a mask despite large crowds being gathered at the events such as government programs in the Tiruvannamalai district, attending a wedding and an inspection of storm water drains work in Chengalpattu district, etc.

According to the latest reports, Tamil Nadu recorded more than 18,000 active cases. This also includes 729 new cases in Chennai. Recently, the state recorded new positive cases of 2,269 approximately, with an increasing number of 2,000 cases per day.

Previously, the Tamil Nadu State government imposed a fine of Rs 200 for not wearing masks and an amount of Rs 500 for not maintaining social distances. But, many people seem to be not following the rules as the fines have not been imposed strictly.

Tamil Nadu Medical Department recently stated that the cases are increasing due to Omicron and sub-variants.

Also, PMK Chief Dr. Ramadoss too is in isolation after being tested positive for COVID-19.
